《中文》教材初中版对象为学完小学版《中文》（修订版）的海外华裔青少年。 《中文》教材(小学版)自89年代中期推出至今，受到海外华侨华人的热烈欢迎，成为众多海外华文教育界人士的首选教材。近年来，海外要求《中文》继续推出中学版的呼声非常强烈，鉴于此，国务院侨务办公室委托暨南大学华文学院编写《中文》(初中版)教材，用以衔接《中文》教材(小学版)，以满足华人华侨青少年进一步学习中华语言文化知识、传承中华文化的需求。
This set of textbook has 24 volumes. It is designed for Chinese school students in grade 6-8. It includes 6 student books, 12 workbooks, and 5 teacher's books.
